Your VP (ASW Patrol Squadron) at work!

Your job is twofold:

1. Escort six oil tankers from the coast of France where two escorts
picked them up and take them to an area (defined below) where they'll
be handed off to another group. You have six days and twelve hours to
accomplish that feat. At their starting speed of ten kts. you'll get
there in six days and six hours!

2. Patrol the GIUK gap for infiltrating subs.

Half of the subs will be waiting for the convoy, and the other half will
be trying to enter the North Atlantic. I assure you that the P-3s in
Keflavik will be doing most of the work, after all there's nothing else
to do there but chase girls (they say that there's a girl behind every
tree, unfortunately there aren't many trees).

NOTES:
a. Invoke the scenario from the main screen (the one with the group and
unit windows) by entering Alt-F1. You need version 1.1 of the game
   to use this scenario.
b. This scenario is intended to be played from the NATO side.
c. The scenario is easy to moderate complexity.
d. The victory conditions are such that you have to sink subs AND get
the convoy to its hand-off sector.
e. In an average game, you won't sink enough subs if you only cover the
convoy. However, if you don't cover the convoy well enough...
f. There are two F-16s in Keflavik for a reason!
g. The sector is defined as:
56 degrees N lat./40 degrees W long. (top left corner),
54 degrees N lat./36 degrees W long. (bottom right corner).
h. Turn on the grid lines at 1x for both lat. and long. to see where
the sector is. You don't need to keep the lines on but it'll do
if/when/until the game allows us to leave markers on the map.
i. Obviously, you get a variable number of P-3s so good luck.

Please let me know how well balanced you perceive this scenario to be.

Thanx, W.LEVAY
